Our forte is the design and production of maps.
In designing maps, it is essential that the potential map users needs are identified.
Once this is done, we design the map keeping these needs in mind.

Sound cartographic design requires close and analytical attention
to each element of the map,
ranging from assigning visual hierarchies,
decisions about line weights and styles,
colour design,
choice of type styles and size,
right through to judicious type placement.

Computer cartography allows a great degree of flexibility, and
the map design can be an evolutionary process.
Depending on the client brief, we can take on all,
or any part of a mapping project.
This could range from initial concept,
to research, field checking,
and through the inter-linked evolutionary stages of
cartographic design & production.

Where necessary, we can take responsibility for, and organize, the printing.

INTERACTIVE MAPS
Interactive maps are a powerful new tool for providing
comprehensive map and location related information
in ways that hard copy maps just cannot do.
The map user decides what information, what sequence and in what combination
that information is viewed, assimilated and,
if needed, printed.
In essence, the information is presented in such a way
that the map user can switch on what is of interest or relevance,
and switch off that which has no interest or relevance.
Maps can be seamlessly zoomed so that an area can be clearly investigated and analysed.
Interactive maps can be set up so that they can
be searched for streets, towns, places of interest such as
vineyards, restaurants, cinemas, hospitals etc.
In fact, whatever appears on the map can be found using special map tools.
Symbols and locations can be clicked on to obtain further information.
This could include written information, contact details, a locality map,
links to websites, links to a series of photographs, even 360 ° panoramas or short videos,
i.e. a virtual visit can be created.
Time or seasonally related information can be animated and accessed
via the interactivity of the map.
Cartographic, graphic and interactive design has to be sound and well thought out,
for an interactive map to clearly and effectively convey
the information a map user is seeking.
